The Workshop:
Experimental/Mixed Media Drawing is a
workshop that incorporates the basic
elements of drawing - value, line, space,
gesture, color, weight, texture, composition -
with layering techniques utilizing Golden's
acrylic mediums of Absorbent Ground, Acrylic
Ground for Pastels, and Mat Medium.
Drawing from objects, photos, personal
mark-making, landscape or portrait to create
layers of information with charcoal, pencil,
pastel, collage, markers and inks, allows
each student to work through a process that
is both personal and formal.  The momentum
and content of the drawings will develop as
additional layers are added to create a rich
dimensional surface.  The goal is to develop
personal drawing skills and find the "surprise"
in a finished mixed-media drawing.
